Loose Meat Sandwich

Cooking Time: 20 mins. | Good For 4 people
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup Cola - I prefer Dr. Pepper
- 1.5 tbs yellow mustard
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 onion finely chopped, plus more for topping
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns split, for serving
- Toppings such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, for serving
Instructions
- Brown ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink, drain fat and return to pan.
- To the beef add in the diced Onion, Cola, Mustard, Sugar, Salt & Pepper and cook on medium/ low for approx 15 mins to allow sauce to reduce, stirring often.
- Optionally if you prefer a thicker sauce you can mix 1tbp of Cornstarch to 2 tbs cold water and add this to your meat mixture and allowing to thicken for a couple more minutes.
- Once thickened, place your meat mixture onto your buns with desired toppings and enjoy!
